CaesarCipher

Encrypt and decrypt text using Caesar cipher with custom shift

🏛️

About Caesar Cipher

Named after Julius Caesar, this is one of the oldest encryption techniques. It shifts each letter by a fixed number of positions in the alphabet. Easy to crack but fun for learning cryptography!

📚 How Caesar Cipher Works

  • Letter Shifting: Each letter is shifted by a fixed number of positions (the key)
  • Example: With shift 3, A→D, B→E, C→F, ..., X→A, Y→B, Z→C
  • Wraparound: Letters wrap around the alphabet (after Z comes A)
  • Case Preserved: Uppercase and lowercase are maintained
  • Non-Letters: Numbers, spaces, and punctuation remain unchanged
  • Brute Force: With only 26 possible keys, it's easy to try them all!
